After returning from my trip to Cologne, Derby looks even smaller and there seems to be a really high proportion of mad people around. Literally every person in my bus queue looked weird/had mental problems. Does that sound snobbish? Cologne was very pretty, the cathedral was so impressive and huge, and the weather war so heiss ich konnte nicht schlafen. That was very bad German. I realised that my German is terrible and I let Craig do all the talking to people. One conversation with a taxi driver went like this: driver (in german): "So do you like Cologne?"
"Yes it's a lovely city"
"Where are you from?"
"England"
"hm." He didn't really seem very impressed by this and stopped talking to us.
I had an interview at the Playhouse earlier and after arriving a bit late (cos of stupid buses) I felt all flustered and started grinning as i was nervous. i don't think i really impressed them with my short answers to their questions..one asked which play or film i'd seen recently which impressed me. I started talking about a film i'd seen at the Metro set in the war time, and how it was upsetting cos it was about the holocaust but while i was explaining it i was STILL grinning like a maniac so i don't think they were too impressed. i hate interviews.
